Escapes and Rovos Rail have designed a unique ten-day Steam Safari to
entertain discerning steam and train enthusiasts. This
is a journey by steam for over 1,300 miles through southern Africa aboard
the world’s most luxurious train. It consists of a lounge car, an
observation bar car, a dining car and accommodation all in en suite rooms.
  
This
panoramic journey commences at the incomparable
Victoria Falls
and travels southwards to
South Africa
via
Botswana
.
As
we head to the South a visit to
Hwange
National Park
has been planned, as we depart for
Bulawayo
sit back and relax whilst doing some more game viewing from the
observation car or your cabin.
Bulawayo
is the heart of Zimbabwe Railways and a visit to the
Railway
Museum
is planned, we also visit
Matobo
National Park
which is the final resting place of Cecil John Rhodes. Dabuka is our next
destination situated in the Zimbabwean mid lands, a highlight of the trip
is
Antelope
Park
where you can walk with lions or go elephant back riding. The train now
heads for the border with
Botswana
at Plumtree. The southward journey passes the towns of
Francistown
, Serule, Palapye, Mahalapye,
Gaborone
(
Capital
City
) and finally Lobaste before crossing into
South Africa
. Continue through the scattered trees and grasslands to Magaliesburg
before our final days trip to Rovos Rail ‘s station at
Capital
Park
in
Pretoria

may occur between the time of your reservation and 90 days prior
to departure will be penalized $500/pers.

Cancellations at
less than 90 days will become non refundable unless a
replacement is found. In such case,only $250/pers. would be
retained for administrative fees.

guaranteed. This journey would only be cancelled for technical
reasons. In case of political instability in the destination
country at the time of travel, VIP Escapes and its partners
would re-arrange the itinerary to take such matters into
